So far in the Time and Time Again New Warriors miniseries, the battle for powers between the Sphinxes, two immortal beings who wanted control of the universal force known as the energy of Ka, had begun. The New Warriors were caught in the middle, and were separated, tossed throughout time.

Nova returns to a world he thinks is his Earth, but was a world of ruins. There, he encounters the Nova of this planet (who was also Rich Rider). This Nova, because he had never lost his powers, had too much responsibilities, too much power, and as a result, his Earth was destroyed by an anomaly which engulfed the planet, known as the Deathstorm. This Nova had been in Shi'ar space when the event occured. Nova from our Earth sees that he will need more help on using his powers so that he could go back home to prevent this Deathstorm event from occuring on this planet.
